Fulvestrant comes from a drug class of estrogen receptor antagonist hormones/antineoplastics. Fulvestrant is a hormone therapy that works as an estrogen down regulator (anti-estrogen medication) to fight cancer. It can block the effects of estrogen on cancer cells, which can slow or stop growth on some breast tumors that require estrogen to grow.

INDICATIONS

Breast Cancer, Metastatic

Fulvestrant (Faslodex) is commonly used to
treat advanced or metastatic hormone-related breast cancer in
women who have gone through menopause (postmenopausal).

Fulvestrant (Faslodex) is used in cases that the cancer has progressed and spread to other parts of the body after treated with anti-estrogen medication.
Fulvestrant (Faslodex) is used to help treat HR+/HER2- breast cancer in women without prior treatment or in women with progressed cancer after they have been treated with an anti-estrogen medication.
